Celtic twinning (Sabrosa  and San Xoan de Rio)

One of the main objectives of the project is, naturally, to find common ground between at least two public institutions, two municipalities whose characteristics and history present a relevant and significant symbiosis for the community, culture, tourism, and the appreciation of heritage.

Sabrosa and San Xoán de Río are two administrative divisions of different but neighboring countries that essentially share various aspects, particularly the landscape, the people, and the culture. Sabrosa and San Xoán de Río are, in essence, two sister territories, two territories that, despite current administrative borders, have significant similarities and many common interests.

The twinning of these two territories represents one of the project's key goals. The connection between the people, businesses, individuals, and institutions will naturally enable the development and utilization of the various natural, cultural, economic, and environmental resources, and, above all, promote a culture of friendship and commitment between two regions rich in environment, people, and heritage, both regions belonging to the ancient Roman Gallaecia, a mystical and distinct region where the Celts found refuge and peace.
